Bar Otani 小谷
Hidden in an old office building in the "Little Japan" area of Taipei, Bar Otani is the kind of bar you probably have seen in Japanese movies and dreamed of visiting one day. The moment you duck and go through the door, you’re immediately transported to Otani san’s personal cosmos – a calm, reserved yet gentle space. All the walls and ceiling are painted black, and no music is played. Suddenly, you hear the beautiful rhythm of the shaker and the cheerful symphony of ice cubes, bar spoon and glasses; you see the patterns and colours of the meticulously crafted cocktails. It’s a perfect place for solo drinkers to meditate over the mixologist’s works of art in peace.
Where to eat
There are plenty of Japanese restaurant around. Maybe get some chicken Ramen at Toto Ramen.
